John is a little drunk

April 21, 2009

and he’s watching the Bulls game at my apartment. Currently, they’re winning late in the fourth quarter. He’s pretty excited. I don’t really care, but it’s funny to root for the Celtics just to be arbitrary. John also notes that the Bulls need to start getting some fucking defensive rebounds if they want to stay in the game. I think they should just stop checking out all the Celtics players.

Not a lot happened today because I stayed up all night finishing my senior seminar paper in Philosophy (and doing a pretty poor job of it) so I was tired and I skipped a couple of classes and hung out at the house. I did play “Legalize It” on KTRM during my office hours, which I thought was pretty funny.

I bought some wheat bread from Covert Cupboard today but I haven’t had a chance to eat any of it because John and I made some awesome burritos for dinner. We discussed how “dem franchise ho’s” (John’s phrase) wouldn’t believe that we were capable of making food that consisted of more than three ingredients. We did use the microwave a lot, though.

One final note of interest: I didn’t notice nearly as many flagrantly stoned people on campus and stuff today as I have on past 4/20s. There were a lot of people noticeably absent from math class, I guess. They were probably all at Pizza Hut cause they had the munchies (lol) or they were trying marijuana for the first time and then instantly moving on to hard drugs like heroin. I’m not sure. Also, it just dawned on me that Family Guy probably did that dope thing because of 4/20. Hilarious!

For the Youth of America

April 20, 2009

So there’s this new TV show called Sit Down, Shut Up that follows The Simpsons on Fox Sunday nights, and I was pretty excited about it. I’m a real sucker for animated comedies made for adults, even though most of them suck, just because I’m such a huge Simpsons fan, and to sweeten the pot, this particular show is connected to Arrested Development a couple of ways: Mitch Hurwitz is responsible for bringing the show to America after seeing it in Austrailia and Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Henry Winkler all lend their voices. It follows that I was pretty excited about it, but when it was on I was too busy looking at stuff on the Internet to really pay attention, but from what I saw it was boring and unfunny. The same goes for that new Simpsons episode, too.

Right now I’m watching Family Guy, and it sucks. Looks like they’re doing some kind of anti-anti-pot thing. Hopefully it’ll change a few minds and get that shit LeGaLiZeD!!!

It’s really tough to stay focused on homework this semester because I’m only taking one course that I’m really passionate about– my workshop with Obi Nwakanma, who is a pretty goddamned good poet– and then a bunch of miscellaneous philosophy courses and a required math class, too. I really put off all of the classes I don’t care about until my final semester, and it bit me in the ass. I hope the youth of America is reading this blog, because this paragraph is a warning to them. Space out your work! Set up timetables and actually adhere to them! Eat your vegetables!

Family Guy just made a Michael Jackson is a pedophile joke. Then they made a Helen Keller joke. Hilarious!
